Stonewall DFL supports the DFL Feminist Caucus’ call for Congressman Nolan to step down from his bid for Lieutenant Governor.
We further call for Attorney General Lori Swanson, as a gubernatorial candidate, to show the kind of leadership we expect from a DFL governor. We expect her to hold her running mate accountable, and to set a positive example for the kind of behavior DFLers will and won’t accept, within our campaigns and in governance.
We demand accountability for our leaders on sexual harassment and workplace protections. Sexual harrassment and abuse should not be tolerated within the DFL or within government, especially as we see the Minnesota GOP legislative leadership drag their feet on accountability and creating a safer working environment at the capitol.
As an LGBTQ+ community, we can empathize with the hard decision about whether to be publicly truthful when doing so can result in harm to us. As such, we support the women who have chosen to stand in their truths and not be silent.
